My favorite holiday tracks
Here’s what I’m rocking out to this holiday season.
Nothing makes me happier than singing along to a holiday hit while cozied up in a blanket, eating gingerbread. Since we’re in right in the middle of the season, I’m listening to as much holiday music as I possibly can (and truth be told, started cranking the holiday tunes the day after Halloween). Because I am all about spreading the JOY of the season, here’s my favorite tunes for this time of year.
Justin Bieber ft. Boys 2 Men – Fa La La
Justin’s entire Christmas album is SO good, but if I had to pick a favorite, this would be it. I’ve probably listened to it over 500 times this year alone (and I’m not counting last year’s holiday season).
She & Him – All I Want for Christmas is You
Obviously, no one can out do Mariah Carey’s original version, but I love how different this cover is. Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward have such different sounds as solo artists, and I LOVE the way they blend them together when they collab.
Kacey Musgraves – Let It Snow
This cover (like the rest of the album) has such a cute, vintage feel, it’s hard to believe it only came out last year. It’s makes a great soundtrack for baking and decorating.
Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me
This is one of my new holiday favorites. It’s just SO catchy, I sing it non-stop.
The Carpenters – Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
This has got to be my favorite Christmas classic. Hearing it totally takes me back helping my parents decorate our tree when I was a little kid.
Kolton & Sydney Scotia - Baby It’s Cold Outside
Confession: I listen to my own tracks sometimes — especially when they take me back to a really special recording experience and a moment in time with friends that I want to relive. Kolton and I recorded this cover right before the series premiere of “Some Assembly Required,” but it feels like just yesterday. Listening to it definitely takes me back to one of my favorite holiday memories.
What are your favorite seasonal tunes? Let me know — I love adding to my playlist.
Happy listening!
