So, we’ve all been there! You have a meeting, or a date, or you’re simply trying to live you’re life in peace when…. you breakout. Ugh. Yup, been dealing with this through the winter.
However, I have found some solutions- and they’re super easy to find!!!
Here are my fave skincare products that I’ve found and used in the last 6 months from the drug store.
CERAVE FOAMING FACIAL CLEANSER
Amazing gel cleanser!! It says on the bottle that it’s for normal to oily skin and is great for oil control. I usually have dry skin but this works for me if I don’t over cleanse. I love the texture and how it foams up- I really feel like it’s removing all of the makeup and oils. I’ve been using this for about 5 months now and it’s been working great. I want to try to compare this cleanser to another one soon, so let me know what you’ve been using and loving!
ST. IVES ACNE CONTROL APRICOT SCRUB
I had heard mixed reviews on this product but decided to try it for myself. I usually forget to exfoliate but ever since I added this product to my routine, I find myself grabbing it 2-3 times a week easily. It smells great and is really refreshing. It is a DEEP exfoliant and the microbeads are really large and rough so be gentle with this scrub!
SIMPLE WATER BOOST HYDRATING SHEET MASK
I love a good sheet mask when my face is feeling really dry and dull. This one is just like the brand says- SIMPLE. I think everyone knows how to put a sheet mask on but what I love about this is that I feel like a can’t be doing any harm with weird ingredients or harsh chemicals. I also think this would work great on any skin type. Perfect for a night in!
POND’S DRY SKIN CREAM
My great aunt swears by this and she’s looked 15 years younger than she is as long as I can remember. I started using this a few months ago and it is great for my super dry skin and makes up for all the cleansing I do. The smell took me a couple weeks to get used to because I’m used to an unscented moisturizer but you get used to it really fast. This is just a really soothing, basic cream.
CERAVE MOISTURIZING CREAM
I feel like this one is a classic- every dermatologist suggests this or the equivalent in another brand. Also, so many friends I know with perfect skin use this. When you put this on, you feel how thick and moisturizing it is. It’s not as fun as those pink moisturizers I see all over instagram, but everybody recommends this if you get breakouts. It helps with rashes, rough, uneven skin, so it’s definitely going to be gentle and great for all skin types. However, the packaging says - for normal to dry skin. I put two moisturizers on here because I use the Pond’s during the day and the CeraVe at night, since it’s a little bit heavier.
